Daniel P. Pepple

Of Counsel

Dan founded a predecessor of the firm with Dave Cantu and Jackson Schmidt in 1995. He is generally regarded as one of the leading real estate financing attorneys in the Northwest and is regularly designated as one of the Best Lawyers in America. The international lawyer-ranking service, Chambers USA, has identified him as “the best lender’s lawyer in Seattle” (2006 issue) and “the choice in town for financial work” (2008 issue).

He has extensive experience in all aspects of commercial real estate transactions including documentation of large commercial real estate loans, healthcare finance, agricultural financing, timber finance, tax-exempt bond financing, formation of joint ventures, syndicated real estate investments, foreclosures, loan workouts, receiverships and bankruptcies.

Dan started practicing law in 1975 and is admitted to practice in both Washington and Oregon. He received his B.A from Seattle Pacific College in 1969, his J.D. from Willamette University College of Law in 1974 and an L.L.M. in Federal Income Tax from the College of William and Mary in 1975.

Dan was born in the windswept prairie town of Jamestown, North Dakota—a distinction that only a very small percentage of the people on this planet can claim—so he is one of the few people in Seattle who does not complain about the weather. He enjoys cooking, drinking pretty good wine and taking pointlessly long and arduous bicycle rides, although rarely all at the same time.
